Centero has announced today that they have joined the Thread Group.

Thread is an open mesh network communication Protocol designed for products in the home including:

  • Access control
  • Climate control
  • Energy management
  • Lighting
  • Safety
  • Security
  • Health (with Centero’s products)

The Thread Group is not just another standards body, but also a market education group. The Group is promoting Thread’s use in connected products for the home and will offer rigorous product certification to ensure security and interoperability. There has been tremendous press attention with over 100 articles published within a day of the launch of the Tread Group. Just about every top tier mainstream and industry news outlet showed interest including organizations from the Wall Street Journal to the EE Times, and Wired.
Centero joined the Thread Group in order to empower its connected medical products used for in-home patient monitoring.
